Construction Site Safety: Why It’s Important and What to Do About It

Dallas and Fort Worth, known collectively as the Metroplex, attract relocating families and individuals to the area each year. They offer something for everyone – they’re both great places to live. They also have some of the best architecture in the world. The city’s charms are diverse, from the soaring skyscrapers to the annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. There are thousands of active building sites around the country, and each has its unique set of dangers that must be considered. No one can dispute the significance of safety, but there are many more advantages to having a safe building site that goes well beyond the apparent. Everyone must abide by the laws and norms that are in effect at a building site to make safety a top concern. Placing construction site barricades to protect the workforce is a frequently utilized safety measure.

Traffic Barrels

Traffic barriers of all shapes and sizes are all the rage. They are commonly used to separate vehicles from construction workers. They are also a must for road safety and speedy traffic flow. One company, in particular, offers a full suite of traffic control and safety equipment, including the one-of-a-kind hydro blasting service for rapidly removing old markings. If you want to look at the newest and brightest in the industry, check out the Fort Worth-based traffic control company. The company is a leading traffic and safety equipment supplier in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Signage

Signage barriers are safety barricades that keep trespassers and the public safe around construction sites. They are often seen around roadworks but can be used at any construction site that needs to protect workers and pedestrians from accidents. They are a great way to keep people safe and allow them to pass through construction zones without getting caught up in the work. They can also be used for directing traffic and are usually reflective to make them more visible at night. There are barricade rentals that are typically steel-made but can be customized to suit your situation. They can be powder coated in various colors or galvanized to keep them rust-resistant. They can also have fixed or detachable bridge feet depending on the surface they will be on. It makes them a great option for various events, from festivals to parades to construction sites. They can even be used for indoor events or parking lots.

A-Frame Barricades

The A-frame barrier is among the most popular barriers used on construction sites. These are strong, lightweight and easily moved around if the area needs to be changed. They’re also more robust than cones, making them a great choice for areas with a lot of traffic or machinery movement. They’re also easy to stack and transport between job sites, which can be a huge time saver! You can even fill them with sandbags for added stability. A-frame barricades come in a single or double style and feature plastic legs that accept 2″ x 8″ planks. They also have mounting receptacles for warning lights. They’re NCHRP-350 crash test worthy and meet MUTCD standards. They’re also available in 6′, 8′ and 10′ lengths with Engineer grade or high-intensity reflective sheeting. They are also made of 100% plastic, eliminating the need for rust or wood rot.

Type III Barricades

Type III Barriers are used at construction sites to guide drivers and control traffic flow around a work zone. They also help keep workers safe by directing vehicles away from dangerous areas on the job site. These barricades feature galvanized steel square tubing skids and uprights with stub weld base receivers. These economic barriers are easy to assemble and remove with one person. The uprights accommodate two flashing barricade lights for nighttime operation and increased visibility on dark streets.  These heavy-duty traffic barriers are made from durable materials that resist chipping or breaking and withstand harsh weather conditions. Uprights attach quickly to bases with quick-release lock pins. The bases nest together for storage and stack easily for transport when not in use.
