UPSC is responsible for recruiting members to the central government job vacancies. UPSC recruits IAS officers, Central services officers, IPS officers, IFS officers, IRS officers, and also recruits for the armed forces of India. CSE(Civil services examination) is conducted by the UPSC every year. Sometimes it is also known as IAS exams since UPSC recruits IAS officers also. Usually, UPSC exams are conducted in three steps.
- Preliminary exam or Prelims: The first exam is a written exam and consists of two papers. Both the papers have only objective-type questions. They are GS paper or GS paper -2. All you need to do is to select the right answer from the given choices.
- Civil services mains exam or Mains: This stage of the exam has 4 papers to choose from. UPSC Mains GS 1, GS 2, GS 3, GS 4.
- Civil Services Personality Test: This part of the exam is a face-to-face interview. Only if you have cleared the exam with the respective cut-off then you will be called for the interview.
