The central processing unit has three major parts. They are the main memory, arithmetic logic unit, and control unit. The CPU is linked to all the input and output devices of the computer. The main task of the CPU is to process the information and send instructions to the input and output devices. Including the auxiliary storage units are connected to the CPU and controlled by it.
