“Driver_power_state_failure ntoskrnl exe” is an error image that often occurs due to faulty drives. Your computer might shut down suddenly and then restart displaying a blue screen. The screen also displays that the error has happened due to a file called ntoskrnl.exe. The error is one of the BSOD(blue screen of death) errors which is connected to the stop code. It occurs when the computer goes into or exits the sleep mode.Driver power state failure is caused mainly because of faulty drivers as we have mentioned before. Also, corrupted files can cause this issue. Checking whether your hardware and software is compatible is also essential as this might be the reason.
Try backing up the system partition ‘C’ Drive!
First you will have to activate partition specification which is a mini tool partition wizard. Download it and select a location which is unassigned. The space cannot be larger than the system ‘C’ file. We must ensure that the C file is capable of storing that file. Adjust the size of the location and also execute the pending operation. Now you can back up the data from BSOD to ‘C’ file. For this back up, you need an external device. Recover data on the system partition using the external device. Choose a new drive which is ‘E’ drive where you can find the lost files within built-in tools. Select all of them and save in the non-oriented system partition.
Other solutions to fix the issue!
If the issue still persists, you can change the power settings. Apart from this, you can try removing your external devices. Updating the device driver software will also fix the issue. Sometimes, if none of the solutions work, try uninstalling newly added applications and programs. Resetting your PC and running SFC scan might fix the driver power state failure issue.
