Monitor user activities on the web, social media interfaces, and email marketing to further establish what consumers are looking for, the content that interests them, and how they navigate your website. Some metrics that can be used include the amount of time a user spends on a page, bounce rates, and conversion paths, which can assist in determining which parts of the marketing funnel are working and which need to be adjusted. For example, if your website analytics show that many visitors spend a short time on your site and leave after visiting a given product page, you may have an issue with your product description or the call-to-action buttons.

Use Surveys and Focus Groups

Surveying the consumers directly on preferences, user experience, and purchase decisions gives marketers a wealth of information that cannot be quantified.
